Premier League club will not let Liverpool target leave this January

Reputable portal Goal.com have spread the words of Leicester City manager Claude Puel regarding the club’s star player Riyad Mahrez.

The former Southampton manager believes Mahrez could cost more than £100 million next summer, denying the possibility of the eventual January sale. Liverpool and Arsenal are both strongly interested in signing one of the best Premier League wingers.

The Algerian international proved to be the top-class player since his arrival at King Power Stadium from Le Havre back in 2014.

Along with Jamie Vardy, Mahrez is the most valuable player for Leicester, and his stunning performances has drawn the attention from several Premier League clubs that would like to allocate a significant amount of money for securing his services.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is considering the 26-year-old playmaker as an ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho, but Puel won’t give up on his best player unless astronomical offer arrives at his desk.

During a recent interview, he stressed: “Maybe in the summer he will cost even more than £100m. It’s just rumors, noise about him. We can see Riyad smile, enjoying his football, enjoying to play with his team-mates. After the training session he continues to play, I wanted him to stay rested, but it’s perfect.”

As things stand, Reds will have to consider other alternatives.
