Manchester United misfit Luke Shaw has sent a message to manager Jose Mourinho amid interest from Everton.
He said: “I’ve always, especially recently felt really confident, and I knew I was in a good moment fitness-wise with the work I’d been doing. And I knew when my chance would come I’d be ready.
“A bad injury like I had always stays with you a little bit afterwards but it’s in the past and I feel really good and really fit, and my leg feels perfect. Body-wise and fitness-wise I probably feel the best I’ve ever felt.
“Mentally I feel very strong as well and I’m enjoying my football, and it’s now about pushing on and helping the team.”
Shaw struggled to achieve regular game time under Mourinho during the first half of the season but has begun receiving minutes during the past few weeks. The 22-year-old has won selection during his club’s last few League games.
Shaw is hoping to play well during the second half of the season and there has also been speculation suggesting that Everton are keen to take him on loan during the second half of the season as Sam Allardyce is keen to bolster his defence.
