The Daily Express have broadcasted the news from Sky Sports about potential interest from Leeds United in Derby County striker Chris Martin. According to the same reports, the ‘Whites’ would like to bring the player on a season-long loan.
Martin is a quality striker with plenty of Championship experiences, as he already performed for Derby and Fulham for four consecutive seasons. Unfortunately, this has been a rather disappointing campaign for him, as he only scored one goal in Championship so far.
Manager Thomas Christiansen is determined to sign a new striker this January, as both Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Jay-Roy Grot have both failed to make an impact.
The former Luton Town player, Martin, may regain his old form at Elland Road, but his wages could represent a significant problem.
Derby want to offload the 29-year-old forward on a permanent basis, but it seems that Leeds are looking for a loan deal, which is the main obstacle to completion of the transfer.
