Italian newspaper Tuttosport have announced that Aston Villa midfielder Birkir Bjarnason could be on his way out from Villa Park this January after striking the agreement with Serie B side Parma Calcio.

The Daily Express broadcasted the same news suggesting that the Italian club is yet to make a deal with Aston Villa officials.

The 29-year-old midfielder arrived at Villa from Basel last January after stunning performances with Iceland at last Euro. However, he failed to adjust to English football and seems destined to leave England during this transfer market.

Bjarnason has recently announced his desire to return to Italy where he had successive spells with Pescara and Sampdoria. It seems his wish is going to be fulfilled after he reached an agreement with Parma.

The Emilians will now have to convince Villa representatives to offload their player, which shouldn’t be a problem considering that wealthy Chinese businessman Jiang Lizhang bought the club last summer.
