Tottenham to reportedly face competition from German side for young target

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keeping tabs on Ajax’s Donny Van de Beek, who is also a target of Tottenham.

The 20-year-old established himself as a key player for Ajax under former manager Marcel Keizer and this is likely to also be the case under new boss Erik ten Hag.

The youngster has made 18 appearances for the Dutch giants this season and has scored six goals and provided one assist.

While Spurs and Dortmund are keeping tabs on his progress, Van de Beek penned a new contract with Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena at the beginning of 2018 which will see him remain at the club till the beginning of 2022.

As a result of the player having a breakout season this term, his price will almost certainly rise rapidly.

From the player’s perspective, it may be best if he continues developing at Ajax for another 1-2 years before considering the next step in his career.
