Daily Express have announced that Rangers have initiated official contacts with Hamilton over the midfielder Greg Docherty. The player’s estimated value is around 1 million.
The 21-year-old has an exceptional season with Hamilton, as he scored three goals and provided six assists in 21 games in the Scottish Premiership so far this term. Docherty is a versatile midfielder with stellar technical skills and good vision.
Rangers manager Graeme Murty has been looking for a quality midfielder that can connect the team lines, and Accies’ player has exactly all the features needed.
It won’t be easy to convince Hamilton boss Martin Canning to renounce on his best player, but Docherty has great desire to wear the blue shirt, and if Rangers meet Hamilton’ demands, everything could be concluded quickly.
According to the reports, Accies’ would ask around £1 million plus additional bonuses to sell the prosperous midfielder.
If the deal goes through, Docherty will become Rangers’ third signing this January, after Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy.
