Liverpool reportedly close to finalizing deal for a high-quality player in January

The Daily Mirror have announced that Naby Keita’s transfer from Leipzig to Liverpool could take place this January despite recent denials from Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. The teams have already made an agreement for Guinean international on a £48 million deal.

According to the original deal, Keita was supposed to become an official Liverpool player in the summer, but after Philippe Coutinho’ departure, manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to bring the 22-year-old player already this January.

For now, there’s no clarification about possible sum Liverpool have to pay more to take Keita during the current transfer window.

Some sources imply that the former Red Bull Salzburg player is very close becoming Reds’ player in Januar, as both Klopp and Keita are eager to start working together.

Nonetheless, Press Association Sport suggests that Liverpool representatives would like to maintain great connections they have with the German club, and will not pressure the transfer.

Although Keita won’t be able to play in the Champions League, he would be a major boost for Liverpool in the Premier League.
