Celtic and Rangers reportedly going head-to-head for signature of £500,000-rated 22-year-old

Celtic vs Hearts

According to TEAMtalk, Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers are both in talks with Dundee to land centre-back Jack Hendry this month.

The £500,000-rated 22-year-old has impressed since returning to the Scottish Premiership this term following an ill-fated 18-month spell in England, with Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers openly declaring his admiration for him couple of months ago.

English clubs are also very much keen on Hendry, but it’s unlikely he would be going back soon following the disappointing outcome last timeout.

The former Partick Thistle man should tick the boxes at both Rangers and Celtic, and while he is more likely to have a better chance of breaking into the starting XI at Ibrox, the glamour and success at Parkhead could be more tempting.

Rangers need another centre-back with Bruno Alves seemingly on his way out, and the ball-playing, strong and fast Hendry would be the perfect replacement.

Celtic only just brought in Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig, but are still looking to strengthen at the back as they look to continue their total domestic dominance.
