Sunderland flop Mika Domingues, who failed to register a single first team appearance for the club has left by mutual consent.
The 26-year-old was signed by former boss David Moyes 18-months-ago but the club have decided to part ways with him after he clearly failed to establish himself at the Stadium of Light.
At 26, the former Portugal international is at a stage of his career where he should be playing first team football and it was clear that he was not progressing at the Black Cats, so leaving the club was probably the best thing that he could have done.
Even after the departures of Jordan Pickford and Vito Mannone, who were the Black Cats first and second choice shot-stoppers last season, the club did not trust Domingues. He ends his contract six months before it was due to expire.
A club statement said: “Sunderland AFC can confirm that goalkeeper Mika Domingues has left the club by mutual consent. The club would like to wish him well for the future.”
