Arsenal and Everton have been dealt a blow in their aims to sign AC Milan striker Andre Silva after the Italian clubs Sporting director indicated that the player will not be sold.
The Portugal international has failed to hit the ground running following his €38 million transfer from FC Porto during the summer transfer window and has failed to find the back of the net from 12 appearances.
Speculation has being doing the rounds recently that Milan could look to offload the 22-year-old this month especially as they need to comply with FIFA Financial Fair Play rules after having spent heavily during the summer.
Milan Sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli seems to have indicated that Silva will not be sold.
“I know that Andre Silva is going through a difficult time, but he is a very important player for us,” Mirabelli told O Jogo.
“We have a special affection for him, he has a lot of talent and we want him to stay with us. Of course he’s going to be [with us] in January and I’m sure he’ll be with us for many, many years.”
