After many speculations and rumors over the last couple of days, Belgian left-back Laurens De Bock has finally signed a deal with Leeds United for a reported fee of around £1.5 million.
De Bock has arrived at Elland Road from Club Brugge where he played from 2013. He has signed a four-year contract with the Championship side according to the Yorkshire Post.
The 25-year-old defender is supposed to occupy the left-back position after the injury of Luke Ayling, which would see him out of the pitch by the end of the season.
The club’s vice-captain Gaetano Berardi will now return to his primary right-back position as he was replacing Ayling on the left flank after the injury.
Manager Thomas Christiansen has identified left-back and striker positions as primary objectives to strengthen for January transfer window.
De Bock is the fourth Leeds’ signing this January, as Aapo Halme, Yosuke Ideguchi, and Yuta Toyokawa all signed for the club earlier this month.
