Everton youngster David Henen has revealed that he is open to leaving the club this month.
Since arriving at the Toffees, initially on loan in 2014, the 21-year old has struggled to break into the first team.
He has spent the majority of his time with David Unsworth’s U-23 side for whom he has scored three goals from eight Premier League 2 appearances so far this season.
Henen has now suggested that he could go and play his football in Belgium in the future, either on loan or permanently.
“I really hope that something happens, because I need to be playing minutes, which is what I am looking for and what Everton is looking for, whether I am leaving on a loan basis or finally,” he said.
“There are nice teams here [in Belgium] – even smaller teams – where I can show my talent, my family is here too and it would be nice to be close to them, it would be a nice showcase. Players who are now at big clubs that have passed through Belgium.”
He is young and needs to now start getting for first team minutes under his belt. Perhaps a loan move away from Goodison Park could be good.
