Carragher hands warning to Liverpool following Coutinho sale

Jamie Carragher has told Liverpool to spend the cash that they get from the sale of Philippe Coutinho wisely.

Carragher said: “Disappointed Coutinho has gone, never thought he’d turn into the player he’s become when I first played with him, but he’s been a great player these last few years. 142 million though! Just need to use the money better than we did when Suarez left!!”

Liverpool sold the Brazil international to Barcelona on Saturday in a deal which could be worth up to £145 million with its additional clauses and in the process, he became the second most expensive  player in history, behind only Neymar of PSG.

Liverpool now face a difficult task to find a suitable replacement for Coutinho who was one of their best players during the first half of the season.

One of the names that they have been linked with is Riyadh Mahrez of Leicester.
