As per the Daily Mail, West Ham are keen on beating Leicester City, Swansea, Stoke City and Premier League-bound Wolves to the services of Augsburg fullback Daniel Opare.

The Ghana international, a former Real Madrid Castilla player, is out of contract at the end of the season, and the Bundesliga club are looking to cash in for £3million before losing him for free by summer.

The Hammers want reinforcements at the back this month despite an improved form of fortune under new boss David Moyes, and the manager sees Opare as a needed addition due to his quality.

The FIFA Under-20 World Cup, CAF Confederation Cup and Belgian Cup winner with Ghana, CS Sfaxien and Standard Liège respectively boasts of enough playing experience at the top level despite his age, and could be the needed backup and competition for the duo of Aaron Cresswell and Pablo Zabaleta.

Landing him won’t come easy, though, as Wolves’ latest influence in the market makes them favourites to land the 27-year-old versatile full-back.
