Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was named Arab footballer of the year on Monday in a poll of around 100 Sports Journalists from several Arab nations.
The Egypt international has proven to be one of the best signings of the last summer and has already struck 23 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season.
He also played a leading role in helping the Egypt national team qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Omar Khribin of Syria and Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal came second while another Syrian international Omar Al-Soma of Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia came third.
Due to his tremendous performances from last year, Salah is also favourite to win the African footballer of the year award that will be announced in Accra, Ghana on Thursday.
Liverpool will be hoping that it is Salah who helps them to break their land and start landing major trophies on a constant basis.
