According to the latest bookmakers’ odds from Bet Victor, Leeds have been installed favorites to land Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Clayton before the end of January.
The former Whites midfielder who started his career at Manchester City has fallen out of favour at the Riverside Stadium to the extent that he has failed to make the matchday squad for the last 6 league matches.
Clayton looks bound for an exit this month, and it seems the Elland Road outfit are open to welcoming back one of their former fans’ favourites.
While there appears to be enough depth in the middle for manager Thomas Christiansen, their lack of bite as occasionally evident suggests they could do with a player in the mould of Clayton.
At 28 and with more than 270 league games across England’s top 3 divisions under his belt, the former Huddersfield Town man is an ideal signing that could help push Leeds to the Premier League.
However, with fellow promotion hopefuls like Derby, Cardiff, Sheffield United and Aston Villa also all reportedly keen, landing Clayton won’t be very easy.
