Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has encouraged club captain John Terry to focus on a career in management and not in the media.
At 37 years of age, Terry does not have a long time left as a player and the likelihood is that he will retire at the end of the season should Villa win promotion in order to avoid playing against former club Chelsea.
Many of Terry’s former England national team colleagues such as Rio Ferdinand, Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen have opted for a career in TV over management. Bruce however feels that Terry should be one who goes into management.
Bruce said: “Without question John is going to have a crack at it — and rightly so. Steven Gerrard has gone down that path too, which is great to see. Too many of the top, top players have gone down the media path.”
