Rangers reportedly in the running to land 106-EPL-goal striker in January

According to BetVictor, Rangers are amongst the 6 clubs aiming to land Derby County striker Darren Bent in January.

The bookmarkers name Scunthorpe and Bolton alongside the Gers as the 4th-joint favorites to land the 33-year-old hitman, with Burton, Barnsley and Charlton top favourites.

With Kenny Miller out of action till further notice with a ruptured hamstring, Rangers are in dire need of another striker, and Bent could prove to be the perfect short-term solution.

The ex-England international has been out of action since the start of this season due to a hamstring injury, but has worked his way back to full fitness with Derby under-23’s ahead of returning to the pitch next month.

Bent is a veteran striker as they come having hit 106 Premier League goals during his spells with sides like Tottenham, Sunderland and Aston Villa.

He has a decent return of 22 Championship goals in 73 games for Derby, and can help add depth to the Rangers attack.

His huge experience and influence can also help bring out the best in a majority of the players who can learn a thing or two from him.

The Ibrox outfit will need to go all out to convince Bent if they are indeed keen on his services for the second half of the campaign.
