As per Football Insider, Everton and Newcastle are both monitoring Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan ahead of the January transfer window.
Bryan, 24, has been in top form for the Championship outfit this term, helping them to 3rd on the log with 2 goals and 2 assists, while also weighing in a goal as his side dumped Manchester United out of the League Cup on Wednesday.
Everton are looking for a long-term successor to Leighton Baines, and the club’s scouts have identified the Scot as a perfect candidate.
The 33-year-old is currently injured, leaving boss Sam Allardyce with no option than to use Cuco Martina as a makeshift.
Newcastle are also having issues at the position, with first-choice left-back Paul Dummett out injured since matchday 1, with Toons manager Rafa Benitez left to use Javier Manquillo and Chancel Mbemba.
Bryan can be an upgrade on the duo, with his versatility also a feature Newcastle could do with as he can also play further upfront on the left flank.
Both Premier League sides are expected to table bids for the Bristol City academy graduate next month, but are bound to be rebuffed with the club looking to clinch Premier League promotion come May.
