Redknapp praises Oxlade-Chamberlain for this reason

Jamie Redknapp has praised Liverpool attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his performance during the Reds 4-0 win against Bournemouth on Sunday but added that the player could face serious competition once Adam Lallana returns from injury.

The Reds recorded a convincing victory over the Cherries to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 12 games.

Meanwhile Lallana who has recovered from a thigh injury which he sustained during the summer came on for the final 19 minutes.

Redknapp praised Oxlade-Chamberlain for his performance against the Cherries, however at the same time he did add that the player will face serious competition from Lallana for a place in the side.

“There are vast improvements in his game. When he went to Arsenal, for years I felt he stood still,” he told Sky Sports.

“He picked up a lot of injuries, and I know what that is like, it can be demoralising, but even when he got fit, he didn’t have that sharpness.

“What I am seeing here is that he is becoming a real player under JurgenKlopp. He seems to be learning to play in that position he is in.”
