Liverpool are reportedly keen on acquiring the services of La Liga star

Anfield

According to a recent report from Journalist Tancredi Palmeri (via the Daily Star), Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko.

The Reds have been phenomenal in attack this season with Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all firing.

They defense has however been woeful, costing them dearly and this is one area which they will need to strengthen in the near future.

Vrsaljko moved to Atleti in 2016 and has gone on to make 32 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side with only seven coming this season which has seen him riddled with injuries.

The 25-year-old has also struggled to convince Simeone of his capabilities and recent reports have suggested that he could move away from Atleti amid interest from Liverpool.

It will be a wise decision for Jurgen Klopp to look for another right-back option considering that Nathaniel Clyne has injury problems.
