Alan Curbishley has said that West Ham have improved under David Moyes because the Scot has increased the fitness levels of the players.
Though the Hammers remain in 18th position on the standings they have been impressive recently under Moyes and put in a strong display against Manchester City before claiming a shock victory over Chelsea this weekend.
The Hammers next play against Arsenal on Wednesday night and they will head into the game hoping to get something.
Their results against City and Chelsea can certainly be used as a source of confidence heading into the match.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Curbishley said: “Against Man City and Chelsea, they had a plan.
“David took my old fitness coach, Nick Davies, in there and I understand the fitness levels, the stats, were pretty poor.
“I know lots of managers talk about that when they go into a club and say let’s improve the fitness levels, but I think it was something West Ham needed to do. The proof is on the pitch.”
