According to reports from Italy, Inter Milan have beaten Liverpool in the race to sign Cagliari star Nicolo Barella.
The midfielder has been impressive this season and has managed to establish himself within the Cagliari first team.
Liverpool have been tracking the performances of the youngster but it now appears that Inter have won the race to sign him.
Barella is set to spend the rest of the season with Cagliari and will move to Inter during the summer.
The 20 year old will spend a season on loan with Inter and the move will be made permanent for a fee of £16 million in 2019.
Barella is at the moment looking like a bright up and coming talent. It is perhaps the best move for himself to move to Inter rather than Liverpool.
He will likely receive more game time with the San Siro giants and also will avoid cultural adaptations which he would have had to make had he moved to England.
