Celtic star reveals his huge ambition before the end of the year

Celtic vs Hearts

Leigh Griffith’s wants to score his 100th career goal for Celtic before the end of the year.

The 27-year-old, who has been on the books of the Hoops since 2014, netted his 94th goal for the club during the weekend against Ross County and his hoping to reach his century of goals before the end of the year.

Should Griffiths reach the milestone he will join an exclusive club of Celtic players. John Hartson was the first player to reach the milestone and since then, only 28 others have managed to follow in his footsteps.

Meanwhile Griffith’s goal during the weekend means that he now has more than 100 goals for Celtic and Hibernian combined.

“I will keep chipping away,” said Griffiths. “The sooner that I get to the hundred mark the better. We have a lot of games coming up now so if I don’t get it by the end of this calendar year then I will be disappointed but even then I know that it is coming.

“It’ll be a real honour to be considered among some of the names that have reached that mark,” said the striker. It is at the back of mind. You always know that you are cling in on it and it feels good with every goal that takes you that step closer to it.”
