Sunderland plotting double EPL swoop following Coleman appointment

According to reports, Sunderland are aiming to sign the Liverpool pair of Danny Ward and Ben Woodburn on loan during the January transfer window.

Chris Coleman was appointed as manager of the Black Cats recently to succeed Simon Grayson and the duo are players that he has identified to try and turn his clubs fortunes around.

Coleman was the man that handed both men their national team debuts for Wales and it comes as no surprise that he is targeting them as he aims to lead his club out of the relegation zone.

Ward has so far endured a frustrating season so far as he has failed to usurp Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius in the pecking order.

It is therefore likely that he will favor a move away from the Reds in order to regain confidence. Woodburn has also struggled for game time so far and has made just one appearance.
