Leeds United finally got a relieving victory on Sunday at the expense of Middlesbrough following 4 consecutive losses across all competitions.
The hosts were the better of the 2 sides and most deserving of 3 points having taken a 2-goal lead 54 minutes into the game.
Pablo Hernandez opened the scoring during the first period before assisting Ezgjan Alioski in the second half.
Britt Assombalonga pulled one back for the visitors from the spot 13 minutes from time, but it was too little, too late as Leeds stood their ground to the end to grab their 8th victory of the campaign.
The result means the Whites are only off the playoff zone on goal difference, as they are level on points with 6th placed Boro after 17 rounds of games.
It’s safe to say Hernandez won the game for Leeds, and his performances had a couple of Swansea fans wishing he never left the Welsh club.
In his element and on his day, the Spanish midfielder is unarguably one of the best players in the Championship, and he’s without a doubt Premier League quality.
The 32-year-old attracted lot of praises on Twitter for his Man-of-the-match display, and here are some of the best reactions.
Wish Pablo Hernandez was still a Swansea player

HEAT MAP: Pablo Hernandez’s on the ball heat map today. A very unselfish display covering so much ground, tracking back, maintaining team shape, making vital blocks, acting as a catalyst for starting moves from deep and getting forward to support attacks. pic.twitter.com/c5FiSiGSrK

I’d take Pablo Hernandez back at the Swans right now. Could do with some of that creativity. #YJB

Pablo Hernandez would walk back into our side right now. Can drift in and out of games but has the ability to unlock defences that none of our midfield has. Always enjoyed watching him in a Swans shirt.

Pablo Hernandez would walk into our starting 11 with one leg
