Former Liverpool and Chelsea star Fernando Torres is set for a return back to the Premier League in the near future, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Fernando Torres has only 18 months remaining on his current deal with Atletico Madrid and it is believed El Nino will hang up his boots at the end of his contract.
However, claims are being that Torres wants to have one last crack in English football before quitting the game.
Torres has already made plans to end his career with Atletico Madrid but his desire to play in England means that a loan move to a Premier League club might still be in cards for the Spaniard.
Newcastle United are believed to be keen on Torres as Rafa Benitez wants to reunite with his former star man to solve the Magpies problems up front.
If Torres joins Newcastle in the January transfer window on loan, then the stage will be set for the 33-year-old to have one last crack in the Premier League.
