Ray Wilkins has backed Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek to go on and become as good as Tottenham star Dele Alli.
Loftus-Cheek was joined out to Crystal Palace this season in order to get more first team experience and to prove to the Chelsea hierarchy that he is worthy of succeeding at the highest level.
Despite Palace languishing at the bottom of the standings, the youngster has so far impressed and earned himself a call up to the England national team for their friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
Wilkins, who has many decades of football experience, believes that Loftus-Cheek can go on and become a star.
He said: “This fella has great technique. He’s got two feet, he’s got energy and pace, he can score a goal and he can create goals. Had he played as many games as Dele Alli through the leagues. I honestly do believe Loftus-Cheek has the ability to be equally as good as him, no question about it.”
