Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has heaped praise on Mohamed Salah, adding that the Egyptian has been the Reds best player this year. This came after Salah struck a brace to lead the Merseyside club to a 4-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday.
Salah arrived at Anfield during the summer for a club record fee of £37 million from Italian club AS Roma.
Many were skeptical of the clubs decision to sign him considering that he had a previous unsuccessful spell in the Premier League with Chelsea.
He has however been impressive and looks to have formed a formidable partnership in attack along with Sadio Mane.
Gerrard has now praised the Egyptian saying: “I watched him a lot at Chelsea, and it didn’t really take off for him when he was a Chelsea player.
“Of course he hit real top form over at Roma, but you’re thinking, ‘is he a player suited to the Premier League? And when he first came I, along with a lot of Liverpool fans, wasn’t totally sure how it was going to work.
“But he’s come in and he’s been absolutely top-drawer this season. He’s been Liverpool’s best player by a mile.”
