West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is currently resisting calls to put youngster Antonio Martinez into his first team squad.
The striker has so far been prolific for the Hammers under 23’s this season and has scored eight goals in nine games this season including a brace in the club’s EPL trophy win against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
Despite the 20 year old showing tremendous potential, both Bilic and staff of the club believe that it could be too early to introduce him to the first team fold.
West Ham are currently struggling this season having only taken nine points from their opening ten games with Javier Hernandez not being provided with quality service from the midfield.
The East London club next faces off against Liverpool on Saturday at the London Stadium. Should a loss happen, it could leave the club in the relegation zone and also could result in Bilic being sacked.
