Liverpool legend Sami Hyypia has said that the Reds currently lack a balance between attack and defence under manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside club have so far been underwhelming in terms of their performances this season and have already conceded 16 goals from only 10 Premier League matches which is the worst record of any of the so called top six teams.
They also suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City as well as a 4-1 defeat against Tottenham which raised questions over whether they can challenge for major silverware.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s game against Maribor on Wednesday, Hyypia highlighted that the club has defensive issues.
He said, “I had more protection and there might be some issues with the balance in the game. Everyone likes it when Liverpool is playing that game and everyone is going forward, but you need to have a balance in the game. In some situations the balance is not there.
“But that’s not the only issue for the centre-backs. Maybe I would have had more difficulties if I had to play on the halfway line nowadays.”
