Everton target Allardyce expresses interest in another job

Former West Ham and Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce is interested in the USA managerial vacancy.

Big Sam has been without a job since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season after helping the club avoid relegation from the Premier League. He also feels that he is not yet done following his short-lived tenure as England manager last year.

When asked if he would be interested in succeeding Bruce Arena as manager of the stars and stripes, Allardyce said: “I think I would be interested in talking to them if I had the opportunity.

“It’s a fantastic country and it’s been trying to make football more and more successful every year. And obviously the big teams have been going there for a long time now on pre-season friendlies and big tournaments so the fan base is getting bigger and the interest is getting greater. So it would interest me, yes.”

The USA are looking to rebuild after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. This marked the first time that they have failed to qualify for the tournament since 1986.

Allardyce could be a good appointment for them as he is noted for helping teams to rebuild and get the best out of misfiring players.
