West Ham dealt huge blow ahead of Liverpool’s clash with multiple injuries concerns

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will have more pressure pile on him should the team lose to visiting Liverpool on Saturday.

The condition of the Hammers’ defence line suggests the visitors’ attack might have a swell time running riot in front of goal, and a heavy loss could prove to be the final straw for the Croatian boss.

Veteran right-back Pablo Zabaleta will automatically miss the game having picked up 5 yellow cards and subsequently gotten a one-match suspension.

Centre-back Jose Fonte suffered a knock to his foot during the 2-all draw against Crystal Palace, while the duo of James Collins and Winston Reid missed out of the matchday squad entirely due to injuries.

Should the trio fail to recover before weekend, Bilic will have to do with Angelo Ogbonna and Declan Rice in centre defence, while Cheikhou Kouyaté could be deployed at right-back or at the centre.

It’s a thin rearguard for West Ham at the moment, and such weakness has been massive inspiration for the fearsome Liverpool attack.

Should Bilic be worried?
