West Ham dealt double-injury blow ahead of Crystal Palace clash

West Ham will attempt to win their 3rd league game of the campaign when they play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

However, the Hammers have been dealt a blow as they are set to be without centre-back James Collins, while winger Michail Antonio is a doubt due to a knock.

Manager Slaven Bilic confirmed the Welshman won’t be available during the game’s pre-match press conference, while also revealing that a late call will be made on the Englishman as per his availability for the clash.

Antonio trained on Thursday without contact due to the bruised rib he sustained against Brighton.

He has been a major threat in the attacking third for West Ham this term, and his absence could be felt by the team.

Nevertheless, Bilic can call upon Andre Ayew to start against the Eagles, and based on the midweek performance of the Ghana international, an inclusion in weekend’s starting XI will be a perfect reward.

A win is needed against Roy Hodgson’s men to ease mounting pressure on Bilic, but despite the hosts’ poor form, Palace won’t be a walk in the park for West Ham, and the manager will only hope the absence of 2 of his key men won’t prevent his charges from pocketing all 3 points.
