Liverpool are looking to revive their interest in signing Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas after it was reported that the Portuguese giants were interested to sell the ex-Real Madrid captain, as reported by talkSPORT.

Liverpool had reportedly been looking for a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window but failed to land a suitable target and were stuck with the duo of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius for this season as well.

Both of the aforementioned keepers have failed to impress so far this season though and allied by Liverpool’s defensive frailties; the Reds are currently enduring a disappointing season.

This has resulted in Liverpool being linked with a number of players such as Virgil van Dijk to strengthen their defense but the Reds have failed to land any of them.

While the Reds might have failed to sign better defenders, there seem to be an opportunity to make an upgrade in the goalkeeping department as it has been revealed that Porto are making legendry goalkeeper Iker Casillas available for sale in the January transfer window.

Liverpool will definitely benefit from the signature of the Spaniard, who even at 36 has the quality, charisma and the experience to help the uninspiring Reds defense become more solid.
