Football pundit Jason McAteer has said that he thinks that the transfer of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool to Barcelona is as good as done.
Coutinho was a priority target of the Spanish giants during the summer and they made three bids for him all of which were rejected by the Reds.
The Brazilian wanted the move as he handed in a transfer request and also did not play during Liverpool’s opening matches of the season as he may have been trying to force through a move.
It however does look like Barcelona will retain their interest in Coutinho and he could leave as early as January.
McAteer told beIN Sports: “Do you want me to be completely honest? I think Coutinho will go in the summer. I think it was another Suarez situation. I think it was: ‘Give me [JurgenKlopp] another season. Just give me one more season.’
“And, at the end of the day, you would feel Coutinho would worry whether Barcelona would come back for him.”
