According to a report published by Football Italia, Liverpool could be set to submit a €25 million bid for AS Roma defender Emerson during the January transfer window.
The Reds are likely to strengthen their defense in January as so far they have been very below part at the back.
The problems in defense were once again highlighted during their 4-1 defeat against Liverpool during the weekend with Dejan Lovren experiencing a horror show and Alberto Moreno being less than convincing.
Liverpool were reported to be interested in the player during the summer, however no deal went through probably because he is still nearing full fitness from an ACL injury.
Roma bought the Brazilian in 2015 for just £2 million and if a deal does go ahead, they will be in line to gain a healthy profit. Liverpool really need strengthening at the back in January.
However it remains to be seen if they will indeed swoop for Emerson considering his lack of match time due to injury.
