Benitez explains how he is aiding Newcastle’s takeover

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has admitted that the club’s good run of form in the Premier League is increasing the chances of them being taken over.

The club were recently listed as being for sale by owner Mike Ashley and the clubs top brass are currently talking to five different parties over the possibility of a sale including PCP partners group and Amanda Staveley who have all signed non-disclosure agreement forms.

Many fans of the club are hoping that the change of owners can herald a similar kind of revolution that happened at Manchester City when the club was purchased by Sheikh Mansour in 2008.

When talking about the takeover situation Benitez said: “I just look at my work and I don’t give up. If the team does well and is on the up, it’s easier to attract investors.”

Benitez meanwhile is keen to carry on the good work that he is doing at Newcastle and said: “I just look at my work and I don’t give up. If the team does well and is on the up, it’s easier to attract investors.”
