West Ham boss Bilic receives a potential boost to keep his job with this Tottenham decision

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has received a boost in his aims to keep his job after Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino indicated that he will rest striker Harry Kane for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup encounter between the two sides.

The Hammers have been in poor form so far this season as the have only taken eight points from their opening nine games and speculation over the future of Bilic has increased after the club slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday.

Despite what has happened, the West Ham board are keen to keep the Croatian at least until the end of the season so that he can see out his contract and they will reportedly use the next two fixtures which are against Spurs in the Carabao Cup and against Crystal Palace in the League to make a decision.

When talking about whether he will rest Kane against the Hammers, Pochettino said: “Yes, maybe, yes. We have ahead many games, Wednesday then Manchester United at the weekend and Real Madrid.

“We finish the weekend with Crystal Palace. It’s important to know that he played two games for the national team before Bournemouth. It’s been a massive effort from him, but his performance in that way he’s so professional.”But he’s not a machine and maybe Wednesday to rest.”
