Leeds United reportedly scouting Austria Wien’s games ahead of January transfer

According to Scouts in Attendance, Leeds United had representatives on ground to watch Austria Wien’s derby with Rapid Wien on Sunday.

The Whites scouts also saw Austria’s Europa League’s 1-3 loss to Rijeka, and there are suggestions that Nigeria international striker Alhassan Ibrahim might have been their target.

However, considering there is more than enough depth in that position already, chances are that Leeds were looking at other players, with midfielder Dominik Prokop and left-back Christoph Martschinko probable targets.

Despite making a lot of signings over the summer, Leeds are expected to return to the market when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Whites have to finish strongly during the conclusive half of the Championship campaign, and manager Thomas Christiansen will look to further bolster his squad for the big job ahead.

The midfield and fullback departments at Elland Road can do with some quality additions, and should the Austria Wien duo impress Leeds scouts, they could be on their way to Yorkshire come January.
