Football pundit Graeme Souness has said that Everton boss Ronald Koeman is hurting badly and that fans of the club will not accept it.
The Toffees were consigned to yet another defeat following their 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal at Goodison Park on Sunday and they currently lie in 18th position on the League standings after taking just eight points from their opening nine games of the season.
Koeman is a man under pressure and it remains to be seen if the club will part ways with him in the near future. The Toffees were expected to challenge for a place in the top four ahead of this season but it currently looks like they could face a battle to avoid relegation.
Souness said: “I didn’t see a calm manager there. I saw a man who was hurting badly. I’ve been in that situation where it’s not going well.
“You’re looking for answers, you’re doing things he knows, is tried and tested and gets results and for whatever reason it’s not working right now.
“His problem is he spent a lot of money in the summer, or the club spent a lot of money in the summer, expectation level went through the roof.”
