Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he has a desire to manage the England national team.
Chairman of the North London club Daniel Levy has said that he desires for Pochettino to remain at the club for the long-term and become the equivalent of their Sir Alex Ferguson though at the same time he does admit that Spurs cannot spend heavily in the transfer market due to the hefty costs that have been involved in building their new stadium.
Pochettino has been praised for the work that he has done with Spurs since he was appointed as manager and has been credit for aiding the development of Harry Kane and Dele Alli who have gone on to become stars.
In a sensational new book, serialised in The Mail on Sunday today, Pochettino says: ‘If I were to move into international management one day, I’d relish the opportunity to coach the England national team.
“I’ve heard that I’ve been considered for the job before, but I don’t know if there was any truth in it. I’d be reunited with loads of familiar faces.”
