Montpellier defender William Remy has been touted with a January move to join Leeds United, as reported by Sports Witness.
Leeds United have already made a number of eye-catching signings this summer and they want to continue the good work in the transfer department by landing another coup with the signature of Montpellier defender Remy.
Remy is currently not playing regular football for Montpellier and with his contract ending at the end of this season; the Ligue 1 might be tempted to sell the 26-year-old during the January transfer window.
The defender joined Montpellier for free in 2015 and the 2011/12 Ligue 1 champions will bear no losses should they sell the ex-Lens defender to Leeds. That said, Montpellier might expect some nominal fee from Leeds United in order to allow the transfer to take place in the winter.
Leeds are looking for quality reinforcement at back to strengthen their bid for promotion into the Premier League this season and Remy could prove to be a useful addition.
