Former Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has claimed that former Black Cats and Liverpool attacker Fabio Borini is not good enough to play for AC Milan.
Following the Black Cats relegation from the Premier League last season, Borini surprisingly earned himself a loan move to Milan, this also despite the fact that he only scored twice for Sunderland last season from 26 games in all competitions.
The 26 year old has also not as yet hit the ground running at Milan as he has yet to score from five appearances for the club and Canio has now questioned whether he is suitable enough to play for the club.
He said, “Fabio is a player that I know pretty well since we worked together at Sunderland. He was with me and I would want him with me in other clubs too,”
“Having said this, it would have to be a lower end club who is fighting in the relegation zone. He is a player that works hard but you can’t ask him for too much quality either. At Sunderland we were fighting in the relegation zone where as now he is a starter with AC Milan.”
