Joey Barton has makes big admission about Everton’s next manager

Former Newcastle star Joey Barton has revealed that he has heard “noises” that Carlo Ancelotti could potentially replace Ronald Koeman as manager of Everton.

Ancelotti has been without a job since he was sacked as manager of Bayern Munich following their recent 3-0 defeat at the hands of PSG in the Champions League.

After having spent heavily on bolstering his side during the summer, Koeman has found himself under immense pressure as the Toffees have been playing poorly and have only won two out of their several Premier League games thus far.

Ancelotti has been largely successful as a manager as is regarded as one of the best tacticians of the modern generation.

Barton has now revealed that he heard noises that Ancelotti could possibly move to Everton but added that the Italian may not take the job as Everton is not the best deal that he could get.

He said, “I think Koeman is a good manager and, given time and resources, I think he would get the right blend. And obviously if you’re going to replace him, who would you replace him with?

“I heard noises about Carlo Ancelotti coming in, but what’s he going to do with that side? He still needs a centre-forward, he still needs a centre-half, he’s still got an issue at right-back.

“I wouldn’t take it if I was Ancelotti. You’ve just managed Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich… why would you want the Everton job?”
