Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has issued a warning to Everton as well as any other clubs who could be looking to sign David Brooks during the January transfer window.
Brooks performed impressively and earned himself the man of the match award during United’s victory over rivals Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. He has also since earned himself a call-up to the Wales national team for the first time.
United are currently second on the Championship standings and should they win promotion this season, Brooks will probably not leave. However should they fail to do so, he will probably be very tempted by a move to a side that plays in the Premier League such as Everton.
Wilder suggested that the player will not be going anywhere, saying, “He won’t be going anywhere, “I’m building here and he’s a big part of that.
“We want to keep hold of all our players, especially the ones that are doing well. Sometimes there are casualties, some players that aren’t playing that want to go and play football. I totally understand and respect that but we’re building here and Brooko is going nowhere.”
