Rangers handed double injury boost ahead of Hamilton Academical clash

Rangers visit the SuperSeal Stadium on Friday in their first game after last weekend’s 2-nil loss at Ibrox against Celtic, and a win remains top priority for manager Pedro Caixinha and his men.

Ahead of the crucial clash, the Gers have received 2 massive injury boosts, with the defensive duo of Bruno Alves and Declan John likely to return to the starting lineup after missing the Old Firm derby.

The Portuguese centre-back went to Madrid to undergo extensive treatment for a calf injury he picked up against Partick Thistle, and has returned to Ibrox fit.

Caixinha told the press in a pre-game conference that the veteran defender remains a possibility for selection on Friday.

“Bruno after the three days he spent in Madrid, he arrived in very, very good condition, much better than he left, so he is still with the physios trying to recover”, claims the manager.

“We think it is still possible (he plays on Friday) but we need to check and keep assessing.”

Summer arrival Declan John missed last weekend’s clash to a thigh problem, but has also been medically cleared to feature on Friday.

The team were left to rue missing the 2 against Celtic, but can now be rest assured of claiming all 3 points against the Accies with them back in the lineup.
