Sunderland manager Grayson explains why he feels sick

Sunderland boss Simon Grayson has revealed that he is unhappy with the work ethic of his team and added that he is now sick of making excuses for his teams’ poor performances.

The Black Cats were consigned to their sixth defeat of the season from ten games when they lost 5-2 against Ipswich Town on Tuesday. The loss means that they currently occupy 22nd position on the Championship standings with just six points.

After being relegated from the Premier League last season, Sunderland’s on and off the field struggles appear to have become worse and the club looks like they will struggle to avoid relegation from the Championship this season.

Grayson said, “Tonight is a massive kick in the backside that we ain’t anywhere near as good as we should be.

“You can keep using that word all the time and, to be fair, I’m sick of using it in the press that I do. Players are getting paid handsomely to run around and do what millions of people would like to do.”
