Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his side will reach the last 16 of the Champions League despite having drawn 1-1 with Spartak Moscow on Tuesday night.
Even though the Reds dominated the game for large periods, they had to settle for a draw after missing many opportunities.
Moscow opened the scoring on the night during the first half from a 25 yard free kick. Brazilian Philippe Coutinho managed to score an equalizer to salvage a draw for Klopp’s men.
The draw means that the Merseyside club have taken two points from their opening two fixtures after drawing with Sevilla two weeks ago.
Despite what has happened, Klopp feels that his side will still qualify for the last 16. He said, “We are strong enough to qualify. The door is open but we have to walk through. We can see a bit of light. We have to stay cool, work hard and we will be all right.
“We are not the most lucky team in world football but we did very well in creating chances against a defensive oriented team. We could have created more chances that is the crazy thing.
