Liverpool star reveals why he is happy after Leicester victory

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that he was happy with the resilience that his side showed during their 3-2 victory over Leicester on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho scored to give the Reds a 2-0 lead before Shinji Okazaki scored to hand the Foxes a lifeline. Henderson got himself on the score sheet to make it 3-1 before Jamie Vardy scored and then missed a penalty.

Henderson said following the game, “We dug in right until the end and showed great character to see the game out. We can do better but it’s still an improvement.

“I felt we defended well for the majority of the game and obviously Si (Mignolet) made a brilliant save from the penalty.

“We played some brilliant stuff, especially first half when we were two goals up, which we deserved. I think overall we’re delighted with the result in the end as well as the performance and we’re looking forward to the next game now.”

The win was much needed for the Reds following their underwhelming form of late and it now means that they have taken 11 points from their opening 6 Premier League games.

The Reds defensive issues however were once again shown during the game as they conceded two goals.
